Yoon Ji Oh Threatened With Lawsuit After Writer Accuses Her of Deceiving Donors

The tables have been turned on Yoon Ji Oh,  who claimed to be a witness to the sexual abuse scandal surrounding the case of late actress Jang Ja Yeon, who committed suicide on March 2009.
Yoon Ji Oh, who released her book The 13th Testimony in time with the 10thanniversary of Jang Ja Yeon's death, is now being threatened by a lawsuit from people who have donated money to pay for her protection.
It can be recalled that on March 18, Yoon took to Instagram to appeal for donations to pay for personal security services to protect her amid threats. She posted her bank information as part of her appeal. It was reported that the actress received some 10 million won in donations from 370 individuals before she few to Canada on April 24.
According to a report by Korea Herald, law firm Law and Us revealed that the donors were keen on pressing charges against Yoon Ji Oh, who is currently living in Canada after Kim Soo Min has accused her, the writer who helped with the publication of her memoir,  of deceiving the public and raising profit through donation.
Early this year, President Moon Jae In himself called for the reopening of the Jang Ja Yeon case amid the sexual abuse and prostitution scandal plaguing the Korean entertainment industry, SCMP reported.
"There are cases where the truth was buried as investigators intentionally covered them up or didn't do their jobs properly. Some suspicions remain, and numerous questions are still unanswered. The cases have two things in common: influential people are involved, and the prosecution and the police didn't try to find out the truth," President Moon declared, as he referred to Jang Ja Yeon's suicide as one of the cases that needed to be reopened by authorities.
In 2009, actress Jang Ja Yeon was found dead in her Seongnam, Gyeonggi province after she committed suicide. Days after, a four-page note was revealed to have been written by the actress recounting how she has been forced to provide sexual services to politicians, businessmen,  publishers and influencers in the entertainment industry. In a move that shocked the public, there were 40 names listed in the note.
In Yoon Ji Oh's book,  she claimed that there was a cover-up committed by authorities at the time. She also urged fellow actresses Lee Mi Sook and Song Seon Mi to reveal what they knew about the case. Both actresses have denied having knowledge about the scandal.
